"Fried Chicken and Cold Beer" is the sign on the front of this otherwise unremarkable establishment.  And it is exactly what had drawn me and my friends into the place.  This is a quick and inexpensive stop, and is really more of a deli than a fried chicken place.  Their chicken wasn't that impressive, comparable to most low-end chain restaurants.  The second day that I went back there, though, the deli sandwich I got was excellent and had to have over a half pound of ham in it.  And yes, the beer really is cold.

Deli/convenience store hybrid in rural-ish CT next to a hotel we stayed at. The sign beckoned us with promises of "Fried chicken and cold beer." The beer was indeed cold, and the chicken was surely fried- but it was fatty and kind of gross.

Saving grace/s: We had a wonderful time eating at their outside tables, which comfortably accommodated our party of eight. My stolen bite of apple walnut chicken salad sandwich was actually pretty good. They gave my brother and his girlfriend 9 pieces of fried chicken for the price of 3 because they were closing-- nice gesture.

Yes, I've had better, but if you're stuck in the area, give 'em a shot. Plus they sell single logs of wood for 50 cents?

Deli that has fried chicken and french fries that taste like fried chicken.  The garden salads have egg in them.  Not much vegan food, basically, but probably fine enough for omnivores.  Basically notmy  cup of tea, but maybe yours?
